I feel fresh, I feel ready, I feel happy and excited,&#8221; Raducanu said at a press conference on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old is now ranked world No. 298, having slipped from career No. 10 in July 2022.<\/p>\n<p>She missed out on a wildcard for the Australian Open which begins on January 14 and will have to follow a similar path to her run at Flushing Meadows in 2021, when she became the first player in the Open Era to <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/win\/\"   title=\"win\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">win<\/a> a major tournament after successfully qualifying.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline inline-photo full\">\n<figure><picture><source data- media=\"(min-width: 376px)\"><source data- media=\"(max-width: 375px)\"><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/><\/source><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"photoCaption\">Emma Raducanu underwent surgery on both wrists and one ankle in 2023. <cite>Photo by Phil Walter\/Getty Images<\/cite><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>She said she no longer felt burdened by the expectations that followed her triumph in New York.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Overall I feel positive and lighter.
