{"id":16987,"date":"2023-12-28T17:52:47","date_gmt":"2023-12-28T14:52:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/16987\/google-might-anger-a-lot\/"},"modified":"2023-12-28T17:52:48","modified_gmt":"2023-12-28T14:52:48","slug":"google-might-anger-a-lot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=16987","title":{"rendered":"Google might anger a lot of Google Maps users with rumored upcoming change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google might anger a lot of Google Maps users with rumored upcoming change\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Google could remove Driving Mode from Google Maps by 2024, according to a new report.<\/p>\n<div>Code tinkerers on <span style=\"font-style: italic;\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2023\/12\/27\/google-maps-driving-mode-going-away\/\" class=\"external\">9to5Google<\/a><\/span>    decompiled the latest version of the Google app and discovered code snippets indicating that Google will remove Driving Mode in February 2024.<\/div>\n<p>When using <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/google\/\"   title=\"Google\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Google<\/a> Maps for navigation, a black bar appears at the bottom when you start driving, with an option to call Assistant on the left and a dashboard on the right that lets you listen to podcasts, skip videos, calls and send messages.<\/p>\n<div>In short, it&#39;s a quick way to do something else while driving. It was an Assistant-powered dashboard with quick access to navigation, audio controls, and calling and texting shortcuts. <\/div>\n<p>Now that Maps Driving Mode appears to be removed, it&#39;s possible that Google Maps users will be encouraged to use Google Maps Navigation Mode.
