At this point, it's safe to assume that many people are now bored Star Field<\/strong>. Although the developer hopes to reignite fan interest by announcing upcoming patches and new features that will be released regularly, recent reviews suggest that the game will struggle to recover.<\/p>\n A quick glance at Steam<\/a> (as spotted by PCGamesN<\/a>) reveals that Starfield \u2013 despite all the hype \u2013 is now seen as \u201cpretty negative\u201d on the platform. It seemed like the term “mixed” was being settled on for a while, but now Todd Howard's pet project has managed to sink lower.<\/p>\n Indeed, the most recent user reviews show that many people do not recommend the game. One person called Starfield “well below expectations”, while another called it “disappointing”, although recognizing that \u201cthe shipbuilder is really good.\u201d<\/p>\n In short, the news isn't looking good for what many thought would be a groundbreaking release, especially since it was Bethesda's biggest launch ever.<\/p>\n As of this writing, Starfield has just under 12,000 players, according to Steam Database<\/a>. Now, this could be because it's the holidays, but given that Baldur's Gate 3 has around 169,000<\/a> people currently playing, this could say a lot about what people think of the first one.<\/p>\n Bethesda and parent company Microsoft had high hopes for the product, and while it took off hugely when it launched in September, it quickly crashed and burned upon re-entry.
