After years of US sanctions and problems, Huawei's Kirin is now among the world's top five chipmakers (via Gizmochina<\/a>).<\/p>\n According to a Q3 2023 report from Counterpoint Research, chipmaker Hisilicon (owned by Huawei) now occupies fifth place with a 3% share of the global chipset market. Of course, this concerns the 2023 Mate 60 series<\/a> which contained the 5G-enabled Kirin 9000 chip and sold like crazy.<\/p>\n Other devices like the Mate Kirin processors.<\/p>\n Qualcomm. It's the chip manufacturing company you expected to see as “number one,” and it maintains its dominance with a 40% market share. Apple follows in second place with a 31% share, driven by the iPhone<\/a> 15 series. Bronze is reserved for MediaTek with a 15% market share, and Samsung<\/a> is fourth with a 7% market share.
