Seems like as we get closer to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, leaks and rumors are increasing left and right. We just received a number of camera upgrades that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will see with the Galaxy S25 Ultra 2025 and Galaxy S25 Ultra 2026. Yes, you read that right, we're talking about upgrades camera<\/a> features that look promising on the next three generations of Galaxy S-series Ultra phones, and here's what you need to know.<\/p>\n

Current configuration of Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra<\/h2>\n

To shed some light on what the current flagship phone can compare to, the Galaxy S23 Ultra packs a 200 MP primary wide-angle camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, and a 10 MP telephoto periscope with 1.12 micron pixel and 10x Zoom.<\/p>\n

The new 200MP mode has the ability of AI optimization, which can identify 12 types of objects and optimize them for better image quality.<\/p>\n

According to tipster Revegnus, the Galaxy S24<\/a> Ultra will upgrade to a 50 MP sensor with 0.7 micron pixels on its periscope setup. All other sensors should remain intact. That means the same 200MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom.<\/p>\n

If that's not all, Ice Universe took it to X (formerly Twitter) to tease the AI \u200b\u200boptimizations onboard the Galaxy S24 Ultra's 200 MP main camera. It would be able to identify 12 types of objects and optimize images for better quality output.<\/p>\n

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Camera upgrades<\/h2>\n

A year later, i.e. the first half of 2025, will see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series<\/a>. Even though we are more than a year away from its launch, leaks have already started to emerge.<\/p>\n

The high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra is also expected to upgrade the cameras. The main 200 MP wide-angle camera remains the same, although we can expect a new lens, likely Sony<\/a>, to otherwise clip Samsung's ISOCELL GN sensor series. Moving on, we heard about an improved 50 MP ultra-wide camera, up from 12 MP on the S23U and S24U.<\/p>\n

Finally, the periscope lens is expected to gain variable focal length capabilities which should improve its zoom shots, as the in-sensor zoom will be able to hold until the sensor reaches the end of optical zoom, resulting in ultimately by better shots.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy S25 and S25+, on the other hand, are expected to continue using the Samsung ISOCELL GN3. This comes from tipster Revegnus after sources corroborated previous claims that the Galaxy S25\/S25+ would switch to a Sony sensor.<\/p>\n

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Camera upgrades<\/h2>\n

In 2026, we will get our hands on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. With this, we should prepare ourselves for improved camera specifications on the S26U. It is likely to promise a 200 MP primary shooter with a 1.1″ sensor and 0.7 micron larger pixel size than the current generation's 1\/1.3″ sensor and pixels of 0.6 microns. size.<\/p>\n

Of course, ultimately this is speculation and may or may not come to fruition. It's best to take this information with a grain of salt, as it won't hurt if the South Korean giant decides to change the details mentioned above.<\/p>\n
