{"id":14796,"date":"2023-12-14T21:56:36","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T18:56:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/14796\/kyle-shanahan-makes-mvp-case\/"},"modified":"2023-12-14T21:56:42","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T18:56:42","slug":"kyle-shanahan-makes-mvp-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/?p=14796","title":{"rendered":"Kyle Shanahan makes MVP case for Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kyle Shanahan makes MVP case for Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey\u060c<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Coach Kyle Shanahan says he has two legitimate candidates for NFL MVP in the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#39;t ask him to choose one.<\/p>\n<p>Shanahan agreed that Brock Purdy should be in the MVP conversation when asked about the second-year quarterback Wednesday, but also said 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey deserves consideration for the price.<\/p>\n<p>However, before defending his star players, Shanahan proactively avoided <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/backing\/\"   title=\"backing\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">backing<\/a> any of them for the MVP award.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#39;s Choice<\/h2>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cAre you trying to get me in trouble with these two guys?\u201d  \u00bb Shanahan said.  \u201cThat\u2019s the only reason I wouldn\u2019t comment too much on either one because I don\u2019t want them to cancel each other out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Purdy is among the consensus betting favorites for MVP and was +175 to <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/win\/\"   title=\"win\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">win<\/a> the award Thursday morning on ESPN BET, behind only Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (+160).  But Shanahan said Wednesday that MVP voters shouldn&#39;t forget about McCaffrey, who is +5,000 on ESPN BET.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a non-quarterback wants to get MVP, I don&#39;t understand why Christian McCaffrey can&#39;t do it,\u201d Shanahan said.  \u201cI mean, he\u2019s amazing at what he\u2019s done all year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCaffrey, in his first full season with the Niners, is the NFL&#39;s leading rusher with 1,177 yards and is second in the league with 17 touchdowns this season behind Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (18).
