Google update adds new features to Google Maps<\/span> which Google discussed this today in a recently published blog<\/a>. Currently, when you use Google Maps, your location history is turned off by default. But when you enable it, your driving activity is stored in the cloud and can be viewed in the Timeline feature of Google<\/a> Maps. Google Maps' Timeline feature will help you remember the places you've visited. After updating, your activity will be stored on your device but you can update it in the cloud as an encrypted backup if you wish; with encryption, even Google won't be able to see your location history. <\/div>\n
But keep in mind that Google is making a considerable change to how long you can store your Location History before it's automatically deleted. Instead of keeping this data for 18 months like before, Google will delete the information after just three months, unless you want to keep the data for a longer period. You can even disable automatic deletion commands if you want. These changes will roll out to Google Maps on iOS and Android over the next year.<\/div>\n
