Fingerprint scanner stops working for some Pixel 7 Pro users after Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2\u060c<\/p>\n

As first reported Android Authority<\/a>a few Pixel 7 Pro<\/span> Users say the new Android 14 beta broke their phones' fingerprint scanners. According to posts<\/a> on Reddit<\/a>the fingerprint sensor stopped working on some Pixel 7 Pro<\/span> units after the update, with some receiving the message: “Unable to use the fingerprint sensor. Visit a repair center.”<\/div>\n

THE Pixel 7 Pro<\/a><\/span> is apparently the only device affected. Some affected users are reporting that their phone's screen has been replaced, although this does not appear to be the cause of the problem, as the problem does not only affect those who received new screens or replacement devices.<\/p>\n

Either way, this is a serious problem considering that unlocking your phone using a fingerprint sensor is a quick and seamless process. It will be even more complicated if you use a fingerprint sensor to unlock access to the apps you use.<\/div>\n

Given that the issue appeared less than a day ago, it's no surprise that Google<\/a> hasn't fixed it yet and as of now, there is a user-proposed fix that appears to have fixed it. the problem for many users, but not all.<\/p>\n

If you have been affected, you may want to calibrate the fingerprint scanner of your Pixel 7 Pro<\/span>. You will need a PC for this and you will also need to backup your data. Go here<\/a> to install the fingerprint calibration software.<\/div>\n
