We&#8217;re still a year away from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, but leaked information about it has already started to surface, hinting at impressive improvements in performance and reduced power efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>According to tipster @Tech_Reve, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC is set to debut next year (we&#8217;re a year away from launch) and it will be based on TSMC&#8217;s 3nm N3E process.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like Qualcomm doesn&#8217;t want to compromise on performance and will therefore use TSMC&#8217;s custom Oryon CPU cores rather than opting for a new set of cores.  This will allow Qualcomm to achieve better performance and power consumption without falling into the trap of Samsung&#8217;s unreliable returns, which are a major concern.<\/p>\n<h2>Qualcomm could opt for a dual-chip supply strategy<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"sv\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2705\ufe0f<br \/>Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: TSMC N3E<br \/>Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy: Samsung Foundry 3GAP<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tech_Reve\/status\/1659002602850496513?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 18, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Qualcomm reportedly planned to use a dual-chip sourcing strategy that would have included foundries from TSMC and <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/galaxy\/\"   title=\"Samsung\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Samsung<\/a>, however, the plan has reportedly been pushed back to 2025. For now, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC will be based on the N3E 3nm from TSMC.  process.  There is, however, an exception for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, as it will be built on Samsung&#8217;s 3nm 3GAP process according to a Taiwanese media report.<\/p>\n<p>Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 were very different in terms of performance, as the former was manufactured by Samsung and suffered from lower efficiency and throttling issues than the latter handled by TSMC.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, moving to a dual-chip supply strategy will raise questions, including Samsung&#8217;s unreliable output and the still-concerning performance issues of its in-house line of Exynos chipsets.  But hey, we&#8217;ll have to wait for more updates on this one.<\/p>\n<h2>Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC will bring impressive performance on board<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Qualcomm easily overtakes Apple.<\/p>\n<p>The 8G4, consuming 8 watts of power, achieves a multi-score exceeding 10k on GB6, and the GPU is also remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>Simply put, the Adreno 830 demonstrates improved GPU performance and power efficiency to the level presented by the\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tech_Reve\/status\/1730417341937443164?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 1, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As mentioned above, we&#8217;re almost a year away from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 launch, and yet leaks are coming from everywhere.  Tipster @Tech_Reve pointed out that the upcoming SD4Gen1 scored 10,000 points on Geekbench and that the integrated Adreno 830 GPU uses the same power as the SD8Gen2 while promising excellent performance gains.  Additionally, the SoC would only consume 8W of power.
