One of the most anticipated features of the Pixel 8 Pro is the announced but not yet released Video Boost. While Pixel phones have always offered photography on par with the latest iPhone or Galaxy S Ultra model, when it comes to video, the Pixel models don’t come close to offering the same quality as the iPhone. But Google<\/a> has been working hard to improve the video quality in the market. Pixel 8 Pro<\/a><\/span> this year with a new feature called Video Boost which should arrive before the end of this year.<\/div>\n
With Video Boost, videos appear professionally edited with more vivid colors<\/a> and details. Code discovered in the Android version of the Google Photos app (versions 6.61 and 6.63) by 9to5Google<\/a> has revealed strings of code that give us an idea of \u200b\u200bhow this feature works. Before we start<\/a> giving examples, it’s worth pointing out that turning on the camera and switching to Video Boost creates two copies of a video while filming, one of which is sent to Google’s servers via the cloud and is processed via AI. Once the video is ready, it will automatically appear in the Google Photos app.<\/p>\n

Some of the notifications and feedback you can expect to see on your Pixel 8 once the feature is active include:<\/div>\n

From this list we can deduce that you must be logged in to a Google account to use Video Boost and that the process of a video may take some time before returning to the system. Pixel 8 Pro<\/span> “boosted.” And strings of code show that Pixel 8 Pro<\/span> Users can choose to export a \u201cboosted\u201d video as an AVC or HEVC file so that it can be played back at the highest quality available on the market.
