And now Google Messages also supports Ultra HDR images.

What are Ultra HDR images and why are they important?

According to a report from TheSpAndroid, Google Messages recently added support for Ultra HDR images in RCS-compatible chats. The feature allows users to send and receive ultra HDR images with higher contrast ratio and brightness. As the name suggests, the format provides a better visual experience and can be viewed by users on both HDR and non-HDR displays.

For those catching up, this new image format is exclusively available on Google’s latest operating system, Android 14.
