You can find DJ on ESPN Radio on his show &#8220;Talkin&#8217; Texans&#8221; and you can follow him on Twitter: @Djbienaime.<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Houston Texans have claimed defensive end Derek Barnett off waivers.<\/p>\n<p>Barnett was waived by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday after being selected by the team in the first round of the 2017 draft.<\/p>\n<p>In seven seasons with the Eagles, he accumulated 21.5 sacks, 76 quarterback hits and 37 tackles for loss.<\/p>\n<p>Barnett&#8217;s best season came in 2019, when he recorded 6.5 sacks and 22 quarterback hits with 10 tackles for loss.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Texans-claim-Eagles-DE-Derek-Barnett-from-waivers.jpg&#038;w=130&#038;h=130&#038;scale=crop&#038;location=center.jpeg\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\"\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/aside>\n<p>During the first <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/week\/\"   title=\"week\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">week<\/a> of the 2022 season, Barnett suffered a season-ending torn ACL against the Detroit Lions.<\/p>\n<p>This season, Barnett had three tackles and zero sacks and played just 20 percent of Philadelphia&#8217;s defensive snaps, the second-lowest of his career.<\/p>\n<p>The Miami Dolphins have also claimed to acquire Derek Barnett, a source told ESPN&#8217;s Field Yates.<\/p>\n<p>Houston had a higher waiver priority than the Dolphins, who would have reunited Barnett with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and added some depth after losing Jaelan Phillips to an Achilles injury.<\/p>\n<p>Barnett will instead join a Texans defensive line led by Jonathan Greenard, who has seven sacks this season, and No. 3 pick in April&#8217;s draft, Will Anderson Jr., who has three sacks.<\/p>\n<p>Also Monday, the Texans waived kicker Matt Ammendola.
