Spieth&#8217;s selection was voted on by the five other player directors: Tiger Woods, Patrick Cantlay, Charley Hoffman, Peter Malnati and Webb Simpson.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inline editorial float-r\" data-behavior=\"article_related\">\n<h2 class=\"editorial-title\">Editor&#8217;s Choice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWith the resignation of Rory McIlroy from the PGA Tour Policy Board last <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/wikidollar.net\/tag\/week\/\"   title=\"week\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">week<\/a>, in accordance with PGA Tour tournament regulations, the five remaining player directors have elected Jordan Spieth to serve the remainder of Rory&#8217;s term which expires at the end of 2024,\u201d wrote Monahan to the members.  , according to an email obtained by Golf Channel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJordan has extensive experience in the Tour governance process, having served two years on the Player Advisory Council (2017-18), including as PAC Chair in 2018, and three years (2019-21) as Director players.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy resigned last week, citing time commitment as the biggest factor.  He was also blindsided by the PGA Tour&#8217;s controversial decision on June 6 to enter into a framework agreement to form a partnership with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund and the DP World Tour.
