User-driven changes: Fitbit reveals app updates and teases dark mode،

Google recently revamped the Fitbit app, aiming to give it a cleaner look and better tab organization. While the initial redesign aimed to prioritize health information, user feedback suggested the reception was far from perfect. Today’s Fitbit update addresses these concerns.

Based on user input, Fitbit shared a list of upcoming changes to the Fitbit app (via 9to5Google). Expect design changes, new features, and improved customization options.

One immediate change is the display of tracker and smartwatch battery percentages in the upper left corner of the Today tab. No more navigating to the Devices page; it’s just there for quick access.

For Android users, the Steps streak feature, previously exclusive to iOS, debuts. Fitbit recognizes the positive response as the reason for its introduction to the Android platform and return to iOS. Plus, the Fitbit app now celebrates when you reach your daily step goal.

Addressing user concerns about too much white space in stats cards, Google is streamlining the layout of the Today tab. The update aims to reduce spacing and optimize the overall design based on user feedback.

In a nod to personalization, Fitbit reminds users that they can customize the four stats shown at the top of the Today feed in Rings. No need to stick to the default settings; just tap the pencil icon in the upper right corner and go to “Custom Preset”.

Looking ahead, a future app update will introduce the much-anticipated “dark mode”. Fitbit is currently working on it, with release expected at some point. This feature will be a welcome addition, especially for those who exercise early in the morning or late at night.

Just recently, Google officially unveiled the new Fitbit Charge 6 fitness tracker, and surprise, surprise, AI steals the show again. James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit, revealed that Fitbit users are in for a treat: They will soon have their own chatbot to chat with and get answers to their burning questions.
