It's only natural to expect a brand new iOS beta right after Apple releases a major update to its popular mobile operating system. This is precisely what happened right after the official release of iOS 17.2: Apple released the very first beta version of iOS 17.3. Now it's early to say if iOS 17.3 will be a major or minor update, but judging by the new features, it's definitely intriguing.

Protecting Stolen Devices
This new feature will add a multitude of layers of protection to iOS, making it harder for bad guys to change essential security settings. Enabling the feature will require positive biometric authentication when you attempt to change your iCloud password, turn off Lost Mode, or erase an iPhone while in an unfamiliar location.
Enabling Stolen Device Protection is as simple as flicking a switch by going to Settings > Face ID & Passcode and tapping the corresponding switch to enable Stolen Device Protection. However, disabling it logically requires successful Face ID authentication, so even if thieves know about the new feature, they won't be able to disable it.
Collaborative playlists on Apple Music
Collaborative playlists that allow multiple people to edit public Apple Music playlists are missing from the official release. iOS 17.2, having been promised as a new feature. However, the first iOS 17The .3 beta includes the upcoming Apple Music feature and will hopefully reach the final version this time. The unfortunate iOS 17.3 beta 2 also featured collaborative playlists, indicating that these are well on their way.
This feature, which was carried over after being removed from iOS 17.2, lets your friends help create a playlist for your Apple Music account by allowing them to add, remove, and rearrange songs in the list. The Now Playing interface also allows users to respond to song selections using emojis, which is the case in 2024.
