Android 14’s native share sheet within Google Photos is now rolling out more widely،
Last month, a change was spotted on Google Photos showing that Google was preparing to ditch the custom share sheet used by the app in favor of the one used system-wide on Android. Now it appears that this change has started rolling out to Google Photos users on Android 14.
However, last month it was discovered that Google was preparing to change this in some of its own apps and opt for the more consistent system-wide sharing system that Android offers. This would mean that while you’ll still see some Google Photos-specific options at the top of the share sheet, options for sharing outside of the app will now appear more front and center.
In the new version being rolled out, you will now see a small preview of the featured image as well as editing options with the markup tool, links to some Google Photos specific actions such as creating a link or adding/creating albums. , followed by options for sharing directly to external applications that the system-wide share sheet is known to facilitate. It was originally thought that it would begin with the public release of Android 14but it apparently takes a little longer to roll out more widely.
