The Covid era will be remembered for many things, including the pet boom. Many people have had a dog, and truth be told, many people got tired of them after a while and then abandoned the animals, threw them away.

Even without this ugly phenomenon, animal shelters were full of four-legged friends waiting to be adopted. Often, it’s poor quality photos that prevent faster adoption, Google explains: “There is no such thing as an unadoptable dog, but poor adoption photos can ruin their chances of finding their furry home.”

This is why the tech giant is today presenting its “Pawtraits Kit” and offering it to animal shelters.

This free kit provides select animal shelters in the United States with the Pixel 8 Pro, a camera mount, colorful backgrounds, and even dog toys. His video showed how shelters could take advantage of the latest AI tools in the Pixel 8 lineup, such as Photo Unblur, Magic Editor, and Magic Eraser (via 9to5Google).

Google notes how bad pixelated and blurry photos with poor lighting “often prevent dogs from being adopted.”

Shelters can request a Pixel Pawtraits kit by completing a Google form: “The Google Pixel team is trying to help dogs find their forever homes by giving select shelters the tools they need to produce amazing, adorable photos and videos of their residents so every four-legged friend can put your best face forward.
