Vivo X100 Pro Camera Samples Promise Higher Zoom Levels With Excellent Details،

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched its new flagship series, the Vivo X100. It consists of two models, including the vanilla Vivo X100 and the Vivo X100 Pro. Contrary to reports, the phones are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 SoC. Nevertheless, they offer top-notch specifications, especially in the camera department. While we haven’t seen detailed reviews of the cameras yet, known tipster Ice Universe has posted a few samples on his official X account (formerly known as Twitter).

Vivo X100 Pro captures stunning details

Earlier today, Ice Universe uploaded six different images clicked on the Vivo X100 Pro. Captioning these images, he writes that the smartphone is the new “telephoto king” because its zooming ability is strong, even at 100x zoom.

He also adds that smooth processing and negligible noise outperform Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra. While the camera samples aren’t conclusive, there’s no comparison to the S23 Ultra either; Images, especially at high zoom levels, retain a decent amount of detail.

This is what the images look like

The first image shared by the tipster shows a cityscape with buildings on the left and right and a quadrangle in the lower right corner. This photograph comes from the 23mm or 1x lens of the Vivo X100 Pro. Clicked at an effective focal length of 46mm or 2x, the second image gives a closer view of the relatively low buildings in the center of the previous photograph.

The third photo, with an effective focal length of 100mm or 4.3x, zooms in further and reveals the text written on the central building sign (which is barely visible in the first image).

The Vivo X100 Pro holds up well, even with 20X zoom

In the fourth image, clicked at 233 mm or 10x zoom, we can clearly see the entrance to the building, aligned with two basketball courts. Since the Vivo X100 Pro does not have a dedicated 10x optical zoom sensor, the processed image looks excellent. It has many details, including a red flag pole, what looks like some pine trees, and some street signs.

At 20x, the Vivo X100 Pro can capture details on a smaller panel near the main entrance, as well as even finer text written on the glass entrance. The final image, clicked at 2326mm or 100x zoom, captures the text written on the windows.

As mentioned earlier, no comparison photos are available, but overall the Vivo X100 Pro’s camera seems to do a great job of bringing subjects closer to the photographer.

As the smartphone hits the international market, it would be interesting to see how it compares to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has a dedicated 10x optical zoom lens and a larger main sensor with a resolution of 200MP.
