TikTok just announcement a brand new feature that will allow users in the US and UK to save songs they discover on its social app to various music streaming services, including Amazon Music and Spotify.

The new feature is suggestively called Add to Music app and appears as a button that says “Add Song” next to a track name at the bottom of a TikTok video in the For You feed. The first time a TikTok user presses the Add Song button, they can choose to save it to their favorite music streaming service.

However, it is important to mention that on Amazon Music this feature is only available to Prime members and Amazon Music Unlimited customers, while on Spotify it is available to both free and premium users.

Amazon Music customers will see their tracks saved in the TikTok Songs playlist location, while Spotify users will see their tracks saved in the Liked Songs playlist location.

However, users can also choose to add the track to a new playlist or an existing playlist they have created. Following the first use of the Add to Music app function, the selected music application will then become the default music streaming service for future track backups.

Naturally, TikTok users can choose to change the default music streaming service at any time in the settings. Additionally, TikTok made it possible to use the Add to Music app functionality from an artist’s sound details page.

At the moment, Spotify and Amazon Music integration is only available to TikTok users in the US and UK. Although not mentioned in the announcement, the accompanying image shows the integration with a third major music streaming service: Apple Music.
