Argentina

Inspired by reigning eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, the Argentina retro jersey is a redesign of the memorable deep blue alternate jersey worn by Diego Maradona & Co. during the 1994 World Cup.

The tournament was a failure for the Albiceleste and (literally) for Maradona, who played twice in the group stage in the United States before being sent home for failing a drug test. However, the away jersey has endured and the modern version retains all the splendor of the original – from the black diamond panel running down one side of the front to the repeated motif of the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) logo integrated into it. in the jersey. fabric.

Germany

Germany have had their home and away kits from 1996 – the year they became European champions for the third time – recreated for the modern era.

The bright white home kit returns with its buttoned round collar, the large shield-shaped badge and the three colors of the Federal flag incorporated into the garnish. Just like the Argentina jersey, the logo of the German Football Association (DFB) is integrated into the fabric.

There’s also the stunning teal green away jersey worn by the German national team at Euro 1996, which ended in a triumph for The transmission shaft thanks to Oliver Bierhoff’s golden goal in extra time against the Czech Republic in the final at Wembley.

Mexico

Adidas went back 40 years to bring back the 1984 burgundy away jersey worn by Mexico. El Tri spent a lot of time playing friendly matches in Europe that year as part of their preparation for hosting the 1986 World Cup, where they reached the quarter-finals.

Spain

Spain have seen one of their most archetypal national team kits reproduced as part of the Retro National Originals collection in the form of their 1996 home shirt, as worn during the European Championship of that year.

Featuring a buttoned round collar, the jersey is predominantly red (as you would expect from a team nicknamed “The Red Furia.”). It also features a large navy blue panel on the right flank which houses both the country’s coat of arms and Adidas’ three stripes in yellow. A large image of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) logo is also integrated in the red field.

The RFEF logo, designed by renowned Spanish surrealist artist Joan Miró, takes pride of place on the top of the accompanying rail, which is also part of the collection.
