It’s Christmas in October with the $20 million Everest Race culminating in cross-country racing on Saturday. But it’s also a great 10-race card game for Randwick at all levels!

A field of Group 1 horses will attempt to dethrone Mr Brightside in the inaugural $5 million King Charles III Stakes, while another edition of The Kosciuszko also holds plenty of intrigue.

The rail is in the three meter position and with superb weather in Sydney throughout the week, the race is expected to take place on a dry track.

Barrier 12 out of 12 for In Secret (9) but she has Zac Purton in the lead and I think she is the one to beat. It’s a big final day, so we haven’t seen the best of her yet in this build-up, but both races were great and she did her best work late when fourth behind Private Eye at 1100 m. The extra distance is a big plus (6:4-1-0), she’s a superstar and she can conquer Everest.

Think About It (3) has a will to win that might be unmatched in this field. Hawaii Five Oh had it cold in the Premiere Stakes, but when challenged, Joe Pride’s winning machine pulled back to hold on. This is by far his toughest test yet, but every time it gets harder, he rises to the challenge.

There is no Giga Kick but I Wish I Win (1) beat him in Randwick’s last major sprint – the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes.

The first barrier is very tricky for him, as is the lack of prep races coming here six weeks after his third against Mr Brightside in the Memsie.

But class is not a problem and it will take him a long way.

Overpass (5) leads and as we’ve seen in the past, they can go slow in front in an Everest, especially since there doesn’t seem to be much speed in the race. Super first when just claimed by Private Eye, he will be best at 1200m and from barrier two Josh Parr should make his way straight to the front.
