Manchester United reveal extent of Eriksen, Højlund injuries،

Manchester United’s injury problems have worsened after tests revealed Christian Eriksen would be out for a month and Rasmus Højlund would be out for two weeks.

Eriksen was forced off during the first half of United’s 1-0 win over Luton Town on Saturday with a knee problem and is not expected to return until mid-December.

Højlund, who scored twice in United’s 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League last Wednesday. was also substituted against Luton due to a right hamstring strain, but it is hoped the striker will be available again before the end of November.

Both Eriksen and Højlund withdrew from the Denmark squad ahead of the matches against Slovenia and Northern Ireland.

Full-back Diogo Dalot also withdrew from the Portugal squad due to personal reasons. Coach Erik ten Hag already faces a long list of absentees, including key defenders Lisandro Martínez and Luke Shaw.

Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia are also injured while Jadon Sancho remains exiled from the first team over a disciplinary matter.

United face a tough run after the international break with their next three games against Everton, Galatasaray in the Champions League and Newcastle, all away.

Ten Hag’s squad also includes Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Liverpool before Christmas.

Meanwhile, the Glazer family were criticized by United fans for not attending Sir Bobby Charlton’s funeral on Monday. The club said the decision was made because the Glazers, unpopular owners since their arrival in 2005, did not want their presence to be a distraction.

A statement from protest group The 1958 said: “It’s not really surprising that no one from the Glazer family seems to have bothered to pay their respects at the funeral of arguably our greatest player of all time.

“The Glazers have proven time and time again that they are estranged from the football club and its supporters and this is just another shameful example.”
