Fabregas lands first managerial job with Italian side Como

Former Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas will temporarily take charge of Italian Serie B side Como, the club confirmed on Monday.

Fabregas will replace Moreno Longo as coach, after the Italian won just 16 of his 45 games in charge.

This position will mark the 36-year-old’s debut as a senior executive. The former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder retired from his playing career in July.

Fabregas made 17 appearances in Italy’s second division with Como last season before taking on the role of coach of the club’s youth team.

Como are sixth in the table and will face Feralpisalo at home on November 25.
