Liverpool hope to seal £20m signing of Sao Paulo defender Lucas Beraldoaccording to the Sun.
The Reds sent representatives to Brazil last week to hold talks with the 19-year-old centre-back, with boss Jurgen Klopp keen to reach an agreement quickly before the January transfer window.
Beraldo has become a first-team starter for Sao Paulo in recent weeks, and Liverpool will hope to gain an edge on their rivals by offering him a fast route to first-team football.

Beraldo’s rise and consistency has seen him become the focus of a number of European clubs since joining the first team in 2022. He recently played a key role in the team’s victory team in the Copa do Brasil, starting both matches in the victory against Flamengo.
The Brazilian Under-20 left-footed defender has an excellent passing range and an ability to outrun opponents with the ball at his feet, making him the ideal fit for Klopp’s Liverpool side.
Wolverhampton Wanderers were keen to make a move for Beraldo this summer, but Liverpool now view the youngster as an immediate starter and a possible long-term successor to players like Virgil van Dijk.
However, they face competition from Bayern Munich, Lyon and Monaco who have all sent scouts to watch the talented youngster in action.

– Spanish club Getafe hope to convince current loan star and Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood so that his short-term move becomes permanent. That’s according to the Mirror, who believe the Spaniards have been impressed with the 22-year-old striker’s form since his move in September. Greenwood, who left United after being suspended following a series of rape and assault allegations, scored three goals and added two assists. He is under contract at Old Trafford until 2025, but Getafe bosses believe they can get a deal done.
– Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is desperate to strengthen his struggling defense in January, and he has tasked sporting director Johan Lange with the task of drawing up a shortlist, according to the Mirror. Spurs have already joined Juventus in expressing interest in the 25-year-old Bournemouth defender. Lloyd Kellybut they would also consider the 24-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star Edmond Tapsoba and Crystal Palace, 23, England defender Marc Guéhi. The Dutchman from Turin, 23 years old Perr Schuurs was also mentioned, despite suffering a serious knee injury in October.

Fluminense have spurned interest in the coveted 22-year-old, but now that they have won the Copa Libertadores, the South American side are now ready to listen to offers. Andre has a £35million transfer clause in his contract and was widely expected to move to Merseyside, but with their interest seemingly cooling, United and Arsenal believe they could benefit .
– Calciomercato reported that Juventus were the clear favorites to sign the Manchester City midfielder. Kalvin Phillips in January, but TeamTalk think it’s the black and white stripes of Newcastle United that are their favorite destination. The 27-year-old England international is looking to move to pastures new in January in an attempt to earn more playing time, with his move to City not having worked out well for either party. This season, having played just 215 minutes, Phillips has made no secret of his desire to leave, but it is now Eddie Howe’s Magpies who appear to be in the hot seat.
