Rashford ‘not happy’ about form – Man United boss Ten Hag،

Erik ten Hag admitted Marcus Rashford was “not happy” but backed the Manchester United striker to return to his best form.

Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions last season and signed a new long-term contract this summer worth £315,000 ($385,000) per week.

But he has struggled so far this season, scoring just one goal in 15 appearances, and was sent off in the 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen.

“I think he’s not happy,” Ten Hag said at a news conference Friday.

“We are not happy. He has high expectations of himself and at the moment he is not in his best form.

“I know he will come back and when the team plays better, he will play better and score goals. I am confident of that. He will improve and score goals this season. He is totally aware of everything, so he will come back on track.”

United’s 12 Premier League goals put them among the lowest scorers in the division but, ahead of Luton Town’s visit to Old Trafford, Ten Hag insists Rashford is not far from finding the way again fillets regularly.

“It can happen very quickly,” he said. “Sometimes you just need one game and I’m sure we’ll get there.”

The defeat in Denmark on Wednesday was United’s ninth in just 17 games this season. It is the most defeats to start a season since their relegation in the 1973-74 season and the visit of Luton this weekend is vital with a tough run of games to come after the international break.

“It’s about the end result,” added Ten Hag, who will be without Jonny Evans against Luton after picking up an injury against Copenhagen.

We have to win every game, so we’re very disappointed to lose a game. But it’s about the end result, it’s about a process, thinking about the process and then managing the process. It’s all about What I’m focusing on.”
