A woman from Oklahoma got her life saved by Apple Watch after an AFib alert،

An Oklahoma woman credits the Apple Watch with potentially saving her life.

The story is from 2021, but only now is she sharing details about what could have been a tragedy (via 9to5Mac) – November 14 is World Diabetes Day. This is what Judith Luebke of Oklahoma was diagnosed with; a problem she didn’t know she suffered from before.

After an urgent medical visit, he was diagnosed with extremely high blood sugar levels, a deadly combination for diabetics.

One Friday morning, she remembers, she received a notification on her Apple Watch. The notification was an alert, indicating that she was suffering from atrial fibrillation (atrial fibrillation – an abnormal heart rhythm, also called arrhythmia). She thought it was just stress from the recent loss of a loved one.

“I talked to my boss that morning and said, ‘You know, I have a meeting this morning. Maybe I’ll see the doctor after this, maybe I will, maybe I won’t – maybe I’ll wait until the weekend,” she explained. Son However, her boss convinced her not to ignore the alert but rather to go to the doctor.

After arriving at the hospital, Luebke learned that she was diabetic and had extremely high sugar levels.

“If I had waited until the weekend, I probably wouldn’t have made it,” she said. “That’s what I would have done if I hadn’t gotten the notification on my watch. I just thought with everything that was going on I just didn’t feel good and I would go to the doctor when I got to the doctor.

Her daughter, Shannon Bowers, is another person who is more than happy that her mother went to the hospital.

“I don’t know what I would do without her. If it hadn’t been for the watch, and if it hadn’t been for the people in his life – his boss and his other colleagues – telling him “no, you have to come in,” and his listening, she would. I won’t be here,” Bowers said.
