Apple could have rushed out revamped iPads and AirPods, but an update is coming next year،

The eerie spooky season vibes have faded and Apple has managed to surprise us with its spooky event, but not in the way we expected. The tech giant has revealed its latest M3 chip, set to power the upcoming Macbook Pro and iMac. Still, the company has left us hanging when it comes to new iPads, AirPods, and accessories. However, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has big plans for its iPad lineup in 2024. New lower-end AirPods are also planned for the next year, with a refreshed Pro model following suit in 2025.

In his last report, Gurman suggests that while Apple could have released more products this year, the revamped iPad and AirPods aren’t quite ready for the spotlight. Not releasing a new iPad this year is the first time since Steve Jobs introduced the product in 2010.

Gurman’s previous suggestions hint at a potential redesign of the iPad mini, iPad Pro, and iPad Air, alongside the introduction of a new entry-level iPad model over the course of the year to come. Gurman predicts a launch timeline around March next year for the 11th generation iPad, iPad Air and iPad mini, with the iPad Pro expected to debut later in 2024, likely featuring the M3 chip from point.

To give some context, the current generation iPad Pro with Apple’s M2 chip was announced in October 2022, while the sixth generation iPad mini received its latest update in September 2021. The latest generation iPad Air, powered by the old M1 chip, has appeared. debut in March 2022. The latest entry-level iPad, the tenth generation model with Bionic A14 chips, was introduced in October 2022.

In a possible shakeup, Gurman also suggests that Apple could abandon the 9th generation iPad. The company may also say goodbye to the first-generation Apple Pencil, favoring the newer version with a USB-C charging port launched last month.

Apple has already adopted USB Type-C, initiating the change with the iPhone 15 lineup in September this year. The plan is to gradually introduce this charging port to all products, including the next iPads.

Regarding AirPods, the company introduced an updated AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C charging port alongside the iPhone15 Series and the Apple Watch Series 9. This raises the possibility that the AirPods Pro 3 will debut in 2025, with a new design and an updated chip.

As previously reported, Gurman is planning a new AirPods Max in late 2024, featuring a USB-C port and new color options. While no major changes are expected, the move underscores Apple’s commitment to a product that hasn’t been updated since 2020.

Additionally, there’s a potential fourth-generation entry-level AirPods on the horizon, featuring a new design, updated case, improved sound, better fit, and USB-C charging.
