FA ‘strongly condemn’ tragedy chanting at Luton-Liverpool game،

The English Football Association said it “strongly condemns” the tragic chants that took place during Sunday’s Premier League match between Luton Town and Liverpool, in a statement released on Monday.

A section of Luton fans have been accused of chanting at Liverpool supporters referencing the Hillsborough disaster during their team’s 1-1 draw against the Merseyside club.

“We are aware of the tragic chants during yesterday’s Premier League match between Luton Town and Liverpool, and we are seeking observations from Luton Town and further details from the police,” the FA said in a statement.

“We strongly condemn chants of this nature and will continue to work closely with our football stakeholders, including clubs, leagues, supporters groups and relevant authorities, to proactively address this issue.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said he had not heard the chant himself but strongly criticized it, saying: “Shame on everyone who said it.” [tragedy chants]”.

Neither club has released a statement
