Generative AI is here to take our jobs! Writers, PR people, journalists and other creatives are marching in the streets to demand an end to the abomination that is AI. The prophets of Revelation are preaching on street corners.
It’s a joke, of course, but the era of generative AI is upon us. If we leave aside post-apocalyptic predictions and focus on the positives, we could see many new opportunities emerging from the AI incubator.
The latest example is the focus on AI in the Pixel 8 family. Google is banking heavily on Bard and implementing all the AI magic directly into its flagship phones. Magic erasers, audio manipulations, real-time translation and other cool things are happening with the latest Pixels.
Assistant with Bard is essentially an AI chatbot on your smartphone, integrated with all other Google services, and while all the features are still to come, this could be a new era for smartphones. With so little innovation in hardware, this is a great chance for Google to shine, get a head start, and perhaps reap huge profits in a year or two.
