New OnePlus 12 leak indicates a spectacularly bright display

OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its first foldable phone in collaboration with Oppo. Meanwhile, leakers keep digging for information on another highly anticipated OnePlus phone, the flagship OnePlus 12. Leaks so far have painted a very exciting picture for this device, and now Android Headlines is reporting some even more exciting news.

OnePlus 12 screen leak: that bright and bright screen

The leak comes from a reputed leaker, Digital Chat Station, on Chinese social media site Weibo. The leaker claims that OnePlus is going to use a larger and brighter display panel for the OnePlus 12. According to the leaker, the maximum screen brightness will reach 2,600 nits.

That’s higher than the recently announced Pixel 8, which tops out at 2,400 nits. For reference, the iPhone 15 Pro runs up to 2,000 in outdoor use. The OnePlus 12 will therefore be a very, very bright phone.

The screen would be a 6.82-inch LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which was pretty expected. The screen is rumored to be slightly larger than its predecessor, the OnePlus 11 (which is a 6.7-inch screen).

Apart from the display information, the leaker also shares other details about the upcoming device. The OnePlus 12 reportedly comes with up to 24GB of RAM, which is pretty spectacular and arguably somewhat unnecessary (16GB is enough for a phone, even for heavy multitaskers). However, there would be a version with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Base models with 8GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB are also expected. The leaker also mentions that the phone will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is not surprising given that this is a flagship phone and OnePlus flagships always use the latest and greatest chip .
