For a long time, the mobile chipset race had a clear winner in terms of performance and power efficiency, and that was Apple’s Bionic chipsets. But the competition is catching up. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 actually managed to beat the A17 Pro in one of our graphics tests, particularly the 3DMark Extreme (High) benchmark, which is the one that puts the most intensive demands on the GPU. Samsung has taken a step back and is now ready to rumble
Unlike previous years, when
Samsung launched its flagship “S” series in two versions. one with the company’s Exynos chipsets and one with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs (depending on market), the Galaxy S23 series only shipped with the latter, regardless of the region it was sold in.
However, some reports indicate that Samsung will return to its previous approach with the next
Galaxy S24 range, and an official company representative, Samsung LSI President Park Yong-in, said something during a keynote presentation at the Semiconductor Expo (SEDEX) that could hint that the tech giant will make a resounding return with its next flagship chipset, the Exynos 2400. (

Mr. Park Yong-in said he believes “the Exynos 2400 will perform well because it offers higher graphics processing performance than North American competitors’ products.” “Now, there’s no simple finger-pointing here, but given how limited Samsung’s competition is in North America, we’d venture to take an educated guess and say that it’s the Apple’s A17 Pro which is discussed here.
Which Galaxy 24 models will receive the Exynos 2400 chip?
The safest assumption would be that Samsung will stick to what it knows. That means Snapdragon chipsets for North America and Exynos for the rest of the world. That being said, things might be a little different this time around, with rumors that Samsung could launch the
Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for each market while keeping the Exynos vs. Snapdragon split for the regular S24 and the S24. More.
The truth is that the real answer to this question is still up in the air, but we won’t have to wait too long until January 2024, when the Galaxy S24 series is expected to be announced.
