The Galaxy Watch 6 is part of the first Sleep Rave ever – a study that brings DJs and neuroscientists together،

Samsung, neuroscientists and DJs collaborated in the Netherlands (where else could it be?!) for a one-of-a-kind research project: a Sleep Rave.

A select group of ravers had the chance to doze off in comfy beds, listening to an 8-hour sleep-inducing set from a local DJ duo. All participants wore the Galaxy Watch 6 and had their sleep habits monitored throughout the night. For example, sleep scores, timing of falling asleep, sleep stages and sleep consistency are examined.

To create a true rave setting, the Sleep Rave took place in a place renowned for dancing evenings: the monumental chapel of the Arena Hotel in Amsterdam (via SamMobile).

But why?

The data collected will be analyzed by independent neuroscientist and sleep expert Dr Els van der Helm to determine whether the music that normally keeps people awake – dance music – can actually help people sleep better at night.

“Music plays an important role in our sleep habits,” says Dr. Els van der Helm. “Research shows that more than a third of Generation Z and millennials in the Netherlands use music to help them fall asleep, and another third want to try this to improve the quality of their sleep. It is therefore clear that music occupies a special place in our sleep habits.
