Manchester City’s Erling Haaland scored his first two goals at Old Trafford as they beat Manchester United in a 3-0 defeat in Sunday’s heated Premier League derby.

Pep Guardiola’s treble winners are third in the table with 24 points after 10 games, two points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur. United, whose defeat was the first in four matches in all competitions, are eighth with 15 points.

Haaland, whose 11 league goals this season equal United’s total goals, converted a penalty in the 26th minute when VAR showed Rasmus Hojlund had brought down Rodri from a free kick. The Norwegian calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner.
