Xiaomi Watch S3 is the company’s first HyperOS-powered smartwatch

Xiaomi held a major event in China this week where it announced many new products, including a flagship, a smartwatch, a brand new operating system, a TV, a refrigerator and even a washing machine.

We’ve already talked about the company’s upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 14, but if you’re more interested in the smartwatch, here are some important things you’ll want to know before buying one.

First of all, the Xiaomi Watch S3 is the company’s first smartwatch that runs on the all-new HyperOS, which promises a smooth and unified interactive experience across different Xiaomi devices. The newly introduced Xiaomi 14 will also come with the same operating system.

Secondly, the Xiaomi smartwatch sports a mid-sized 1.43-inch AMOLED display featuring a 60Hz refresh rate, 326 ppi, 600 nits, and 256 levels of adaptive brightness.

According to XiaomiThe Watch S3 features the company’s unique interchangeable bezel design, which allows users to seamlessly switch to custom watch bezels by simply rotating and adjusting them.

The smartwatch comes with a wide variety of watch faces, including dynamic animation and exclusive sound effects. Additionally, Xiaomi Watch S3 supports over 150 sports modes such as outdoor activities, skiing, ball games, dancing and many more.

Finally, Xiaomi revealed that its new smartwatch supports dual-frequency five-satellite independent positioning for precise GPS tracking. Thanks to the L1+L5 dual-frequency GNSS chip, this smartwatch can use all five major satellite systems to try to pinpoint a location.

As for the price, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Watch S3 will be available for purchase in China for the equivalent of $140. It remains to be seen when/if Xiaomi will bring its first-ever HyperOS smartwatch to other countries.
