But the issue was given a “medium” priority ranking of P2, with P0 assigned to issues that need to be resolved immediately. Complaints from affected users include issues like boot looping, while others complain about their phone getting stuck on the “Pixel is starting” message. Others opened the camera app only to see a message saying it was “out of storage.” Screenshots cannot be taken because there is nowhere to store them and factory resets cannot be performed.
Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 series models are affected by the bug
A post on Issue Tracker said: “I have the same problem with my wife’s phone. Pixel 6! In the meantime, she is using her second user profile and is hoping for an update from Google to restore access to her data, currently locked in the main profile. Another Pixel 6 Series owner says: “Same issues here on my P6 pro. After updating to officially (sic) 14 from 13 on main profile, no internal storage is available. Phone is not usable! This has been known to Google since they came up with 14 but no fix is available, unbelievable! I’ve never heard of this from Apple.”
The multi-user feature allows multiple users to use a single device and have their own storage and apps. Individual users can also create personal and professional profiles. The bug only affects those who use this feature. And that’s something Google can’t ignore because it’s not going away. But what might disappear is a number of Pixel users who could have purchased a Galaxy S23 Ultra model or an iPhone 15 series, but didn’t. Google needs to fix this immediately.
