Xiaomi 14 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, HypeOS and up to 1TB storage launched،
Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, introduced its flagship Xiaomi 14 series in China on Thursday. At the Chinese launch event, Xiaomi revealed two models: the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro, both featuring the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and its new operating system called HyperOS.
Xiaomi 14 CPU, RAM and storage details
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 14 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, making it the world’s first smartphone to feature this new flagship processor from Qualcomm. The devices are available in configurations offering 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, with storage options ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB. The base model has a configuration of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, while the rest of the series is equipped with 16 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi 14 Series Cameras – Once again partners with Leica
Xiaomi maintains its partnership with the famous German optical company Leica, with the Xiaomi 14 series featuring camera lenses manufactured by Leica. The main sensor of the Xiaomi 14 is a 50 MP sensor (Light Hunter 900) with a large sensor size of 1/1.31 inch, f/1.6 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS). This main camera is complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle JN1 and a 50MP 3.2x telephoto JN1, also equipped with OIS. The front camera also does not disappoint in terms of megapixel count since it is a 32MP Omnivision sensor for selfies.

On the display side, the Xiaomi 14 Pro offers a 6.36-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a remarkable 3,000 nits of brightness, outperforming rivals like the iPhone 15 and Galaxy S23. The screen, compliant with high-end smartphone standards, incorporates AMOLED technology and an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, 1920 Hz PWM, Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ for a smooth user experience.
Xiaomi 14 Pro battery and charging
In terms of battery performance, the Xiaomi 14 is equipped with a 4610mAh battery and supports up to 90W fast wired charging, ensuring rapid power replenishment. Wireless charging is also an option, with a capacity of 50W. Additionally, the device boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Xiaomi 14 Software – HyperOS
HyperOS, Xiaomi’s innovative new operating system, is expected to gradually replace MIUI on compatible devices, with MIUI continuing to be supported on older models. The Xiaomi 14 series will be among the first to offer HyperOS right out of the box, promising a new and dynamic user experience. However, Xiaomi has not yet revealed when other devices in its lineup will transition from MIUI to the new operating system.
Price of Xiaomi 14
The Xiaomi 14 is competitively priced, with the base model boasting 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage starting at ¥3,999 (around ₹45,900). Users looking for higher configurations can opt for the top-end model, which offers 16GB of RAM and a whopping 1TB of storage, priced at ¥4,999 (around ₹57,300).
When will Xiaomi 14 launch in India?
While the initial launch is underway, the global release of these smartphones is expected to take place next year, following Xiaomi’s historical pattern of rolling out devices in international markets.
