Google plans to expand access to the “About This Image” feature by integrating it with Google Lens, allowing users to right-click or long-press images in Chrome and drag their Finger up on images in the Google app to access more information. These additional access options are currently under development and testing and are expected to roll out in the coming months, as The Verge reports, citing a Google spokesperson.

In addition to the “About This Image” feature, Google also announced a beta version of the image search functionality in the FactCheck Claims Search API. Authorized journalists and fact-checkers will soon be able to search the corpus of fact-checking images on Fact Check Explorer via an API, integrating this knowledge into their solutions.

Additionally, the company is experimenting with generative AI to improve the information available on online sources through its generative AI-powered search experience. This initiative aims to fill information gaps where existing sources may be insufficient.
