Whether you want a smartphone under $20,000 or a high-end flagship device, Samsung has something for everyone. While the Samsung Galaxy S23 series including Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra have some of the best features and specifications, Samsung is still gearing up to make the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series even better.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series should include the 3 standard models: Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ And Galaxy S24 Ultra. While the launch is still a few months away, various leaks and rumors have started to trickle in and since it’s difficult to keep up with so many reports, we’ve compiled everything we know so far into this article.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series: Launch timeline
Like every other year, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S24 series in January or February 2024. The Galaxy S23 series was launched on February 1, but this time Samsung seems to have slightly different plans.
An earlier report claimed that Samsung wants to introduce a new series of models as soon as possible to compete with the iPhone 15 and Google Pixel 8 series. This means a January launch instead of February. We’ve also reported this in the past, with Ice Universe announcing a launch date of the 18th. January 2024.
The Galaxy S24 series could share the stage with other devices from Samsung like the new Galaxy Books, etc. However, the main focus would definitely be on the S24 smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series: expected price
The price remains a mystery, but reports claim that Samsung will price the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+And Galaxy S24 Ultra at the same $799, $999 and $1,199 in the United States. If the US price remains the same, the Indian price is also expected to follow the same path. This will mean the Galaxy S24 starting at Rs. 9,999. 74,999, Galaxy S24+ starts at around Rs. 9,999. 94,999 and Galaxy S24 Ultra starting at Rs. 94,999. 1,20,000 or more.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series: chipset and memory
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series could again have different chipsets for different regions. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could feature Exynos 2400 SoCs in some regions. Tipster Ice Universe claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be even more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 because it will use a combination of top-notch performance and efficiency cores.
The Galaxy S24 series is also expected to feature 50% faster GPUs. For now, it is not at all clear whether Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be used only in the Ultra model or in the other two as well. Exynos 2400 also claims to perform better than the A16 Bionic and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets.
Some reports also claim that Samsung will use an optimized version of the Snapdragon chipset like it did with the Galaxy S23 series.
In terms of RAM, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are expected to offer 12GB for the base models instead of the 8GB offered last year. To get more RAM, you will have to pay more because higher RAM models cost more. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will have 16 GB of RAM.
For storage, the standard Galaxy S24 model will also benefit from 256 GB of onboard storage, like the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Other storage models will offer 512GB, 1TB and up to 2TB of onboard storage.
Samsung Galaxy S24 series: design and display
Samsung will mostly keep its three-part Galaxy S lineup intact with the Galaxy S24. Although the basic design remains the same, Samsung will definitely make changes, as it does every year. Smartprix came across design renderings of Galaxy S24 as well as Galaxy S24 Ultra a few days ago, and that’s what the renders indicate.
The base model of the Samsung Galaxy S24 has the same 6.17-inch flat screen, but there are notable changes in the side bezels, which will lead to a different in-hand experience. The Galaxy S24 has a flat frame design which is different from the rounded edges seen last time and the design feels square in the hand. One of the main design changes is the inclusion of a UWB antenna on the side. The screen bezels are reduced and the smartphone seems to come in a light blue color variant. The dimensions of the Galaxy S24 are 147 × 70.5 × 7.6 mm, making it slightly larger than the Galaxy S23. The rear panel has the same design with 3 cameras protruding individually from the chassis, accompanied by LED flash. Renders indicate a soft matte finish giving a tactile feel when held in hand.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra maintains a familiar design philosophy similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It has a 6.8-inch screen but the frame size has been reduced significantly. There is a quad camera setup on the back in a circular module. S-Pen maintains its dedicated case for those who care about stylus functionality. There is a UWB antenna on the right edge and the dimensions are 162.3x79x8.7mm. It has a titanium frame that will make the device 1 gram lighter, bringing the weight to 233 grams.
Samsung Galaxy S24+ will likely have the same 6.6-inch screen and rounded corners as the Galaxy S24. This one could also include a UWB antenna and if titanium is used for this one, it could also become lighter. Overall, there may not be any major changes to the design of the Galaxy S24 series, but more minor tweaks here and there.
Speaking of screens, all 3 models will have AMOLED panels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could finally benefit from the LTPO screen, just like the Ultra model. This will lead to fully adaptive refresh rates. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to have the brightest display with a peak brightness of up to 2,800 nits. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will benefit from a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits. The S24 Plus could get QHD resolution rather than FHD resolution. Narrower bezels will also increase the screen size.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series: camera
Not many changes are expected in terms of the camera setup of the Galaxy S24 series. THE Galaxy S24 And Galaxy S24 Plus should have the same 50MP cameras as their predecessors. Besides a 50 MP primary lens, there could also be a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor, a 10 MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 12 MP selfie sensor.
THE Galaxy S24 Ultra will also have the same 200 MP main camera. However, tipster Ice Universe claims that this time the Galaxy S24 Ultra will not have a 10x telephoto lens but a 10MP 3x zoom and a 5x 50MP zoom instead. If this happens, it will be the first ultra-branded Galaxy to not have a 10x zoom camera, as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and Galaxy S21 Ultra all come with this 10x zoom lens. There are also rumors that the Ultra model’s camera sensor will measure 1 inch, larger than the sensor on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
This will give the Galaxy S24 Ultra lower telephoto performance than the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, as Xiaomi One comes with two 50 MP telephoto lenses. However, since the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is limited to the Chinese market only, it may not make your shortlist in India.

Samsung reportedly packed a stacked battery in both Galaxy S24 Ultra And Galaxy S24+. This will lead to better energy density without increasing size. While some reports claim that the Galaxy S24 Plus and S24 Ultra will have the same 4,700 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries as the previous models, other rumors claim that the Galaxy S24 Plus will pack a 4,900 mAh battery this time. Galaxy S24 should also have the same 3900 mAh battery this time.
The Ultra model’s charging speed is said to have increased from 45W to 65W last time. The base model of the Galaxy S24 will have 25W and the Galaxy S24+ will have 45W wired fast charging capability.

The price remains the same

Larger battery

Faster loading
In an era where charging speeds have increased to 120W or 240W, Samsung is still stuck at 45W wired charging capability. This makes the Galaxy S23 models the slowest in terms of charging speed. It would be nice if charging speeds were increased to at least 65W for the Ultra and Plus models.
WiFi 7 connectivity
The recently launched Pixel 7 series comes with WiFi 7 connectivity. Samsung is also expected to expand WiFi 7 to its flagship devices for faster speeds and data transfers.
More RAM/Storage Options
The Galaxy S23 model had 8GB of RAM, which was one of the lowest RAM capacities available these days. Otherwise, the Galaxy S23 series also has the most modest RAM and storage options available on a flagship phone. Base RAM and storage need to be increased to improve the experience.
An optional cleaner UI/UI
Samsung’s One UI comes with a lot of bloatware pre-installed on the device. This is irritating for many users, so the brand should try to remove this for those who want a clean Android experience. There should be a way to disable One-UI based changes to the stock Android OS.
S-Pen upgrades
Besides decreasing latency, Samsung hasn’t done much to update the S-Pen that comes by default with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. New tricks like Air Actions or cross-device compatibility would make the S-Pen more effective and add more value to the entire Galaxy S23 Ultra experience.
