Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 speed tests preview the Galaxy S24 benchmark scores،

Now it has become clear that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be exclusively powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will also have versions with Exynos 2400 in Europe or Korea.

When announcing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, Qualcomm waxed poetic that it might actually be called Gen AI, given the focus on the power of its artificial intelligence coprocessor and additional features related to AI.
That’s great, but it has the raw processing power of the CPU and GPU in Snapdragon 8 generation 3 this will do Galaxy S24 Ultra tick was upgraded and by how much? Well, Qualcomm just released its own official scores to determine how much faster the Galaxy S24 series will be compared to the Galaxy S23.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 key specs

  • TSMC 4nm production method
  • 10% higher system efficiency
  • Kryo processor 30% faster and 20% more efficient
      • 1 x Cortex-X4 at 3.3 GHz
      • 3 x A720 at 3.2 GHz
      • 2 x A720 at 3.0 GHz
      • 2 x A520 at 2.3 GHz
  • Adreno GPU 25% faster and 25% more efficient
  • AI: AI performance improved by 98% and performance per watt improved by 40%
  • Spectra ISP: Supports 8K HDR and features multi-camera real-time semantic segmentation, Dolby HDR photo technology and dual always-on cameras
  • Snapdragon Elite Gaming features and new hardware-accelerated ray tracing with global illumination
  • Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF system with maximum download speeds of 10 Gbps
  • Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System, supporting Wi-Fi 7 at 5.8 Gbps

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 benchmark results

  • Single-core Geekbench: 2329 points
  • Multi-core Geekbench: 7526 points
  • AnTuTu: 2.14 million points
  • PC brand: 21,628 points
  • GFXBench Aztec Ruins OpenGL (high level) off-screen (1440p): 83 FPS
  • GFXBench Aztec Ruins Vulkan (high level) offscreen (1440p): 96 FPS
  • 3Dmark WildLife Extreme: 32 FPS
  • Jetstream 2 Browser Test: 241
Qualcomm cites improvements of 30% in processing power to the Kryo CPU and 25% to the GPU compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, despite the fact that the Snapdragon 8 generation 3 is still built on 4nm production nodes. However, these are second-generation 4nm production processes that bring stability and compatibility improvements.
In a nutshell, Qualcomm may have even given a conservative estimate of how fast Snapdragon 8 generation 3 speeds compared to the Gen 2 Galaxy S23 Ultra which hovers around the 5,000 Geekbench multi-core score, while the Gen 3 demo device scored above 7,000.

This is, however, a Qualcomm reference platform, meaning it’s optimized for performance and loaded with the whopping 24GB of RAM, but the Galaxy S24 processing power promises to be about a third faster than that commanded by the S23.
