According to a report from Perfect recording (via CNET), the month-old iPhone 15 Pro model has the worst reviews of any premium iPhone to date. By combing through more than 690,000 user-generated reviews online, PerfectRec found that the iPhone 15 Pro was rated 5 stars out of 73% of these reviews. This is slightly lower than the percentage of reviews that rated the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro as deserving of 5 stars. The first received 5 stars from 76% of its reviews while 84% of the second’s reviews gave it 5 stars.
While the iPhone 15 Pro is the lowest-reviewed premium iPhone ever, last year’s base iPhone 14 model earned 5 stars from just 76% of user-generated reviews, a stunning drop by compared to the 80% achieved by the iPhone 13. PerfectRec suggested that high public expectations for last year’s base model simply weren’t met by Apple. But this year, even with lower scores for both iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 non-Pro, and iPhone 15 Plus showed improvement.

This could be due to changes to non-Pro models this year, which include the addition of Dynamic Island, a bump to a 48MP image sensor for the main rear camera, and a move to USB charging/data transfer -VS. And we must not forget that the A16 Bionic 4nm chipset powers these two models.

Despite the drop in 5-star reviews, the iPhone 15 Pro the models also have some new features, such as the titanium body, the increase in 8 GB of RAM, the switch to USB-C from Lightning and the use of the 3 nm SoC A17 Pro, the only 3 smartphone chip nm which will be used this year. THE iPhone 15 Pro Max also adds Apple’s version of the periscope lens, the Tetraprism lens, which offers 5x optical zoom on the high-end model.

The first complaints of iPhone 15 Pro And iPhone 15 Pro Max User concerns about overheating could have led to lower 5-star reviews, although Apple reportedly ended this issue with the iOS 17.0.3 update.
