Flipkart Sends Wrong TV: Customer Receives Thomson TV Instead of Sony TV Worth ₹1 Lakh،

Nowadays, as e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart have become a popular platform to buy everything one needs, these e-commerce websites have also been in the spotlight for hundreds of scams that consumers are facing because of them. Recently, an X (formerly Twitter) user with the username @thetrueindian shared a post through his account narrating his horrible experience with Flipkart.

What is the problem ?

According to Aryan (the name on the handle), he ordered a Sony TV worth 1 crore from Flipkart (during Big Billion Days) on October 7 and he received the order on October 10. Things looked good till then, but when the installation people came on October 11 and opened the box, everyone was shocked to see a Thomson TV instead of a Sony, and that too without accessories like a stand, a remote control, etc.

The user further explained that he raised the issue with Flipkart and they asked him to upload images, which he did. After that Flipkart customer service kept asking him to upload images again and again and he did it without fail but there was no progress on the return request even after 2 weeks . The first date given for the resolution of the complaint was 24th October, then the date was extended to November 1. During this time, the complaint status appears as “Resolved” from time to time.

The user shared his plight saying that he wanted to enjoy the 2023 World Cup on TV and was waiting for Big Billion days to buy his TV, but now his experience has turned into a nightmare, all this thanks to Flipkart. He asked various tipsters and influencers to help him and also shared that the delivery partner was Delhivery and the seller was Omnitechretail.

What is the public saying?

The post went viral in no time as various users shared their experiences and also suggested what the user could do to resolve their complaint. Most users asked if it was not open box delivery and also suggested that the user should have opted for open box delivery to avoid scams as Flipkart is famous for scamming customers. consumers. To this, @thetrueindian responded that open box shipping was not available for this item in their area and open box shipping is primarily available for e-kart items.

Many users requested @thetrueindian to complain to consumer forum, cybercrime cell or umang app so that Flipkart resolves the issue. Many said their complaints were also only resolved when they filed a police complaint at a consumer forum. While some call Delhivery a fraudulent company, others claim that Flipkart itself is a scam and constantly cheating customers. One user shared the email id of Flipkart’s grievance officer and another asked the user to tag the Flipkart CEO to get a resolution.

Where there is a discussion, there are different points of view. One X User asked the person to block the payment if they used their bank card and for this they will have to write to the bank to block the payment. Most of the users shared their horrible experiences with Flipkart and advised @thetrueindian to never use Flipkart to buy electronic items. Some users just wished all the best, while others have no hope as they think Flipkart will never solve the problem.

The replies section is filled with these tweets from various users. Verified handles tagged by @thetrueindian also tagged Flipkart and asked the e-commerce portal to take action.

The post was shared today at 8:38 AM IST and currently has 1,410 reposts, 219 quotes, and 5,628 likes. It currently has over 683,000 views.

Response from Flipkart

In response to all the outrage in the replies section, Flipkart shared an automated type of message that reads: “Our deepest apologies for your experience with requesting a return. We want to fix this for you. Please send us a DM with your order details to keep them confidential here.

Since Flipkart keeps posting these 2-3 automated responses all the time, there is very little hope that the issue will be resolved soon.

If such incidents continue to occur and these e-commerce sites continue to deprive consumers of their hard-earned money, the percentage of people using online shopping sites will continue to decline. Flipkart and Amazon need to be careful not to rip off their consumers in this way or else they will be lost.
