Saints WR Chris Olave arrested on suspicion of reckless driving

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested Monday evening in Kenner, Louisiana, on suspicion of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Police said Olave was driving 70 mph in a 35 mph zone on Joe Yenni Boulevard, which was described in a statement from the Kenner Police Department as a “mixed business and residential zone.”

The Dodge Charger driven by Olave was “observed traveling at a high rate of speed, maneuvering recklessly between lanes and around other drivers in the roadway,” according to police.

The Saints said they were aware of the situation but had no comment.

Olave, 23, was booked into the Kenner Jail Monday evening and was released at 11:30 p.m.

The Saints did not practice Monday after having the weekend following a Thursday night game last week. However, the Saints were still holding meetings and players were scheduled to report to the Kenner facility Monday afternoon.

Olave, in his second year with the Saints, leads the team with 39 catches for 471 yards and a touchdown.

New Orleans plays the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
