A new update released on March 26 introduces this specific feature which has been confirmed to work with several music streaming services, including Apple Music and Spotify (via Reddit). Here is an extract from the changelog:
Now, with just a few clicks, your friends can listen to any TIDAL song, artist or album you share on their favorite streaming service – without hassle or feeling left out because they're not on the same platform.
Unfortunately, TIDAL doesn't mention which streaming services are compatible with its universal links, but it promises to add more in the coming weeks. This is especially the case for music streaming platforms which are not very popular, so if you use Apple Music, Spotify or YouTube Music you should have no problems.
As one of the Redditors points out, you may need to restart the app after updating to the latest version for the ability to share universal links to appear. TIDAL is the first and only major streaming service to offer this customer-facing feature, so let's hope others follow soon.
