Those of you who have played Dragon's Dogma 2 on PS5 or Steam will be happy to know that the new update has started rolling out. The latest version of Capcom's action RPG aims to undo one of the game's controversies.

Plus bug fixes

In a recent article on X, Dragon's Dogma 2 was updated, but only on PlayStation 5 and PC. The message states that it will be rolling out to Xbox Series X|S “in the coming days.” As for the content of the update, one notable addition is the ability to start a new game “when save data already exists.

This is a response to community criticism made so soon after the game's release a week ago. Many found they were unable to clear their current game with a new character. Capcom noted this and promised to rectify the problem, which the studio now appears to have done.

The PS5 port has also been tweaked, including adding the ability to toggle motion blur and ray tracing on/off, as well as adding an option to set the frame rate to 30fps or less. The Steam version brings improvements to the DLSS image scaling feature, while both versions have had bug fixes and other adjustments.

PlayStation 5/Steam

  • Added the ability to start a new game when save data already exists.
  • Changed the number of “Art of Shapeshifting” items available in the game's Pawn Guilds to 99.
  • Make the quest that allows players to acquire their own housing (where they can save and rest) available earlier in the game.
  • Various text display issues.
  • Various bug fixes.

PlayStation 5

  • Added option* to enable/disable motion blur in Options.
  • Added option* to enable/disable Ray Tracing in Options.
  • Added option to set frame rate to max 30fps in options.

Steam

  • Improved quality when DLSS SUPER RESOLUTION is enabled.
  • Fixed an issue with models displaying under certain specific settings.
