AI reportedly coming to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses،
Over the past few months, Meta has ramped up its AI efforts, matching the trends of 2023 and 2024. Today, a New York Times report (via Android titles) claims Meta will bring AI to its Ray-Ban smart glasses.
AI is coming to Ray-Ban smart glasses
The smart glasses in question come from a partnership between Meta and Ray-Ban. The device is equipped with a microphone and a camera, and while it looks great as a fashion statement, it can also take photos, record videos, and even play music. And with AI now claiming its place in almost every technology category, it's time for it to be available on smart glasses. Thanks to AI on Ray-Ban Meta glasses, you will be able to use the camera to identify objects and animals.
In addition to this, you will also be able to use AI for voice translation. Apparently the feature currently supports English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish. The AI in the glasses will be accessible by simply saying “Hey Meta.”
For now, the AI feature is in testing period, but Meta would distribute the features next month. Although the feature set is currently quite limited, there is still room to expand the functionality and concept.
