LinkedIn goes TikTok? The platform tests short-form videos feed in its app،

Short-form videos have become an integral part of our digital landscape, thanks to the growing popularity of platforms like TikTok. Following the meteoric rise of TikTok, other big players like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat have all jumped on the short-form video bandwagon. Now, LinkedIn is preparing to join the fray.TechCrunch reports that LinkedIn has confirmed that it is experimenting with a new short-form video stream, taking a page from TikTok's playbook. The news first surfaced when Austin sucksstrategic director of an influencer agency, shared an insight (later shared on) of the new feed on LinkedIn.

The new feed lives in the app's navigation bar under a new “Video” tab. Once you tap the Video tab, you're greeted with a vertical feed of small videos that you can easily scroll through. Users can interact with content by liking, commenting or sharing. Details of how the feed organizes content are not disclosed.

Unlike the eclectic mix found in other apps, LinkedIn remains firmly focused on careers and professionalism. While video content has long been a part of the platform, this dedicated feed aims to increase engagement and discovery by curating videos that are relevant and easy to digest.

According to LinkedIn, users are increasingly turning to video content to learn from industry professionals. Therefore, the platform is exploring new avenues to surface such valuable content. However, the feature is still in its early testing phase, meaning it is not yet widely available.

For content creators, LinkedIn's new feed could present an opportunity to expand their reach and share video content with a professional audience. There are rumors that LinkedIn may explore monetization options eventually, which could encourage creators to join.

However, not everyone may welcome this change with open arms. LinkedIn has long been loved for its professional and informative content, free from the distractions of typical short video streams. Feel free to share what you think in the comments below.
