Apparently, the reason Samsung pulled out of the discussions is the price Apple was willing to pay for the display. Apple has apparently suggested a price of $25 per display, which is lower than Samsung's previous offer of $30 per display panel.
Samsung is apparently not interested in producing iPhone SE4 screens from the start due to potentially low margins, price negotiations emerged as the final obstacle to its involvement in the model. According to the report, the price rejected by Samsung Display was lower than that offered by the other two candidates.
Apparently, three companies were in the running: Korean giant Samsung Display, as well as Chinese producers BOE and Tianma. However, Tianma could not prove that it could meet Apple's display quality standards. As a result, BOE alone won the contract.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display and a new design inspired by the iPhone 14. Rumors are buzzing with excitement, suggesting that the iPhone SE4 could sport a single 48 MP rear camera, a significant upgrade over the previous model's 12 MP camera. But don't get your hopes up just yet.
The phone is rumored to launch in 2025, so there's still time for things to evolve, and nothing is set in stone yet. Keep an eye out for updates.
