Seishuu Handa is a promising calligrapher: young, handsome, talented and unfortunately narcissistic to boot. When a veteran calls his award-winning piece “unoriginal,” Seishuu quickly loses his cool, leading to serious repercussions. As punishment, and also in order to help him think, Seishuu's father exiles him to the Goto Islands, far from the comfortable Tokyo lifestyle to which the wayward artist is accustomed.

Now thrust into a rural environment, Seishuu must attempt to find new inspiration and develop his own unique artistic style, at least if the rowdy children (led by the dashing Naru Kotoishi), fujoshi middle schoolers, and energetic old men stop barging in in her house. !
