Sure, you won’t receive any calls since your phone is turned off, but you’ll also sleep late since your phone’s alarm was mistakenly turned off when the device randomly turned off. As a result, you’ll miss your usual wake-up time, arrive late for work, and get fired.
The lack of gaps in the battery level graph indicates that this iPhone didn’t turn off overnight.
To make matters worse, the phone sometimes turns off randomly and then restarts automatically. Why is it worse? If the phone turns back on, a quick glance at the device may lead you to believe that since the screen is on, it may never have turned off at all. If this is the case, you will have no reason to believe that the alarm has been deactivated. So in this scenario, you go back to bed, the alarm doesn’t go off, you get to work late, and you get fired.
If you really rely on your iPhone’s alarm to keep you working, until Apple fixes this bug, you might want to invest in an inexpensive alarm clock. Or, when you wake up and aren’t sure if the phone has turned off, you can open the Clock
app to make sure your alarm is still set. Another option would be to go to
Settings >
Battery and check the charging graph for the last 24 hours. If there is a gap between the bars, it means the phone has been off for a while.
Hopefully, Apple will release a fix for this issue soon. After all, it would be bad for the economy if too many people overslept, showed up late for work, and received a pink slip. And besides, this problem has affected various iPhones, including the four new models belonging to the iPhone 15
series.
