Apple’s 2023 AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) with USB-C are now more affordable than ever before،
With the extra-durable Jabra Elite 8 Active frequently available at discounted prices of $150 or $160, Samsung's non-Pro Galaxy Buds 2 are currently $80, and Apple's Beats Studio Buds have gone from $150 to $100 most often. days, you may be wondering if the AirPods Pro 2 are still worth your time and hard-earned money.
The answer, of course, is… not so much at the list price of $249, but if you can get these bad boys for $70 less, they're certainly still pretty tempting. This is a discount we haven't seen offered by a major US retailer since the second-generation AirPods Pro received a September 2023 refresh.
Until earlier today, that is, when Amazon and Best Buy suddenly started charging 28% less than usual for noise-cancelling AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C case. Oddly enough, this very exciting and completely unprecedented new deal is not being announced as part of Amazon's Big Spring sale or any similar Best Buy special event.
But we're pretty sure the $70 discount won't last very long, either disappearing completely once demand increases or being downgraded to the $50 or $60 available many times in the past. This means you'll have to decide pretty quickly whether these are the best wireless earbuds for you, both from a price and capabilities perspective.
Originally released in 2022 in a “traditional” Lightning version, the second-generation AirPods Pro moved to a more modern USB-C charging standard after a year while keeping all of its other specs and features unchanged. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, of course, and if you're a die-hard Apple fan, you might even have a hard time considering an alternative to this hugely popular product.
Active noise cancellation, Transparency, spatial audio technology, Apple H2 connectivity, and battery life are all very hard to beat for iPhone users, and if you hurry, the equation of Value for money also seems perfect.
